First achievements in a month

Yesterday I got my first achievements in over a month. I decide to play a little game of Puss In Boots mostly to get my 2h00 of Kinect playtime for the Triple Play offer of the Rewards Program. I hope to get a bit more motivation to play in the next days.

Latest boardgame buy

As you probably notice I didn't put any videogame updates in a while, it's mostly due to the fact that I'm mostly playing boardgame lately and I have buy quite a lot (around 7 in the last month and a half). Just last week I got 3 new one so I decide to make a real post about that.

The reason I went to my local game store was mainly to get Warhammer : Invasion and perhaps World Without End. Both game where still there and I notice the Gears Of War boardgame, the price was a bit high (99,99$) but the review of the game that I have read earlier and the fact that it can be played solo made me buy it.

So far I mostly play Gears Of War (around 15 times the first mission in solo) and it really feels like the video game (it's even harder) your life is limited to the number of card in your hand (that you also use to take action) and after every turn, the locust got a turn and it's not long before they all goes in the same area and attack you.
I have also played a couple of game of World Without End with my girlfriend. You play a card that let every one collect a ressource/money/victory point and some events, then you play a card from your end to either collect another ressources or help to the building of some structures around the board. But after 3 games, there was not a time where I had a lot of one type of ressources, so you need to be really careful.
For Warhammer: Invasion we just had the time to play a short game, so I can't really give my opinion.
When I will have more experience with those game I will write full review of them. But for now, if you like both board and video game, you should take a look at Gears Of War.

I played about an hour of Gears Of War yesterday, which give me the time to finish another Act.

First achievements of the month

First time in this month that I got some time to play. I'm really tired in the evening since 2 weeks and I'm more in the mood of playing boardgame (Agricola and Lord of the Ring - The card game in solo). But yesterday I was able to continue the story in Gears Of War.

Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #1

Activision has announced that Modern Warfare 3 DLC compilation, Content Collection #1, will be release on March 20. It will be the first DLC for non Elite subscribers.
It will be the first of four DLC, and it will include the Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch and Black Box multiplayer maps and 2 new Special Ops missions, Black Ice and Negotiator.
For Elite members, the 2 Special Ops missions will be available 1 week before this DLC, on March 13.

Another month over

So february is now over, and it was my best month for GS, but it could have been better. I have start the month with a lot of GS every day, but at the end I didn't play that much so I had a lot of day with 0.
For my goal for 2012, I'm now at 13 685GS of my goal of 20 000GS. I need to average 1368GS every month, and so far I'm a little bit under 1000GS by month, so I need to work hard to achieve that.

First board game entry

As I have write in the first entry of the blog, I also like boardgames, and there will be some infos about my other hobby, so here's the first one.
Last weekend I decide to go check at the local gamestore of my town if there's any new boardgames. In the windows there was a poster advising a game night, for that evening.
That was my first experience of a game night with stranger (I have host some game night with some friends at my place), and it was a great night. Me and my girlfriend sat with 3 other guy and the manager's girlfriend to play a game of 7 Wonders (great game) and a game of Mord Im Arosa, a really strange game involving a tower and cube that you throw trought a hole in the tower, and you need to listen on which floor the cube end to find "clue" about a murder.
The afternoon I also buy the Game of Throne LCG and I can't wait to play it. Stay tuned for more boardgame blog in the next weeks.

Yesterday I was able to finish the first act in Gears Of War. I don't play that much lately, I feel so tired in the evening, so I average around 1h00 of playtime instead of the usual 2h00.
A coworker bring me The Chronicles Of Riddick, but reading the achievements guide and the forum on xbox360achievements.com it seems almost impossible to complete at 100%, so I might just try the game on a secondary account and see what the game looks like.

Start of the trilogy

I just start the story in the first Gears Of War, I have complete 2 or 3 levels. I was really surprised to see that there's still people playing it online, it was even easier to find a game in this one that it was with GoW2 when I was trying to get some online achievements.

I didn't play that much since the middle of last week, I was really tired in the evening and over the weekend I had a lot of stuff to do.
I just got a new game, so there will probably be a lot of new achievements unlock in the next days, I got the Gears Of War Triple Pack since I didn't had the first Gears Of War

Lot of GS over the weekend

I finish the story in Halo 3, so that gives me a lot of GS (125GS to complete it for the 3 difficulty), now I just need to get some skulls that I have miss in the first level and play the metagame, but that will wait a bit since I was playing non stop for almost 2 weeks, I will try to play some other game.

Half the missions in Halo 3

I just complete the 5th mission in Halo 3, so I have a little bit more than the half of the story complete so far.
I have also finish the Companions quest in Skyrim.

Bethesda have announced that the new Skyrim patch will be available tomorrow morning (friday 10th). The patch will fix a lot of bug and quest.

Think I like Halo 3 a bit more

At first I wasn't really impress by Halo 3, but the more I play and the more I like it, so I will probably add Halo : Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo : Reach to my list of game to buy.

Weekend update

I didn't had a lot of playtime this weekend, mostly on friday night and saturday/sunday morning but at least I was able to get a couple of new achievements. Missions in Halo 3 seems a bit long in Legendary difficulty, but I have read that it's easier with a second controller, this way when you die you don't have to kill the enemies that you already kill.
